Marriage in 17 minutes, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj
Marriage in 17 minutes: Sant Rampal, also known as Jagatpuri Rampal Ji, has recently made headlines on social media. Marriage in 17 minutes is a new movement that attempts to abolish dowry from our society’s foundations. Rampal’s supporters allege that Sant Ji has influenced many people to accept dowry. They are going crazy about the steps he and his organization have taken.
In a time when weddings are becoming elaborate affairs, a couple in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh, wed in a solemn ceremony after only 17 minutes of procedures.
Marriage in 17 minutes, Dowry had no place in the modest event for obvious reasons.
Even customary ceremonies like Haldi, baraat, Varmala, feast, and the most significant Saat fere were skipped as the two families agreed to this straightforward yet unique union.
After claiming to be a godman, Rampal declared himself to be Sant Kabir’s immediate heir.
“Having a daughter is no longer a burden!” The highest rates of foeticide are still found in various regions of our nation. The Dowry system, which originated in India and is still used in many regions of the world, has a long history.
It took women a long time to speak up for themselves. Women have been demonstrating their value to the world since Abala Bose, the first Indian social worker, and Avani Chaturvedi, the first female fighter pilot. To improve working conditions for women, the government has implemented a number of measures, including the Sexual Harassment Act and the Equal Remuneration Act. Additionally, a large number of NGOs and businesses are changing society through their initiatives and societal perspectives.
Women’s main issues have frequently come up in debates over the years. However, in recent years, women have led by example and made significant contributions to every industry, from IT to the arts. However, the dowry system in our country still has the power to impede social and economic development.
Marriage in 17 minutes: Through his endeavour, Sant Rampal seeks to eradicate the dowry system throughout the entire nation.
Any sensitive topic can be used to attract disciples or followers, and the Anna Hazare 2011 Movement, which organized a number of anti-corruption protests, is a good example. And dowry, the worst social sin that is excused in the name of tradition, is a very touchy subject in India.
Marriage in 17 minutes, Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh
Manish Das, a resident of Udaipur, wed Garima Dasi, a resident of Kareli (Narsinghpur), at a wedding ceremony that quickly gained notoriety.

Marriage in 17 minutes: The families are Kabirpanthi’s and devotees of Swami Rampal. According to community members, such unions help eradicate dowry and casteism. Marriages are solemnized for 17 minutes during which the recitation of the Ramaini, which invokes 33 crore deities, is performed. It is believed that the blessings of these deities have been granted to the newlywed couple during this time.
The father of the bridegroom asserted that such unions are still valid in the Covid-19 era, and he planned the wedding in accordance with his guru’s guidelines. In this custom, Bhakt and Bhaktan exchange vows free of caste restrictions. The bride and groom are seated across from one another during the 17-minute recital of Ramaini, during which the guru’s chaarnpaduka (holy footwear) are kept on a small stage.
The couple received Saint Rampal’s book as a gift, and a photo shoot was planned. The bride came from a Brahmin household, whereas the groom was from a Soni family. The followers are all treated equally by the community.
One of the communities sevadars, Haridas said that parents have big dreams of daughter’s marriage, and his community ensures that marriages happen in a simple manner without any dowry.
IS Marriage in 17 minutes a publicity stunt?
Is a Marriage in 17 minutes publicity stunt by Rampal? Or does he really wish to transform the thoughts of our backward societies? Time will let us know.
