The trailer of this film was released on 26 April. Earlier in November 2022, the teaser of this film came. In the Teaser of the film, it was claimed that 32,000 women of Christian and Hindu religion converted to Islam.

After this, he was taken to Syria and included in ISIS. The Kerala Story features actress Adah Sharma in the lead role. In the film, she played the character of Shalini Unnikrishnan, a girl from a Hindu family in Kerala. Shalini’s religion was converted and she was named Fatima.

In the film teaser, a burqa-clad Fathima reveals that she was a Hindu named Shalini Unnikrishnan, and wanted to be a nurse but is now known as Fathima. Fatima says that now there is an ISIS terrorist in Afghanistan jail, there are 32,000 more girls like her who were converted to Islam and sent to Syria and Yemen. A dangerous game of making normal girls dangerous terrorists is going on openly in Kerala.

Answering this question, Sudipto says that in the year 2010, Oommen Chandy who was CM of Kerala, had put a report in front of the assembly, he said that age of 28 to 32 girls are adopting Islam in every year, just the account of the next 10 years. Creators claim that the story of the film is based on true events. But will no one know if 32 thousand girls from any state change their religion and join terrorist organizations?

It is shown in the trailer of the film that the girls have been framed with complete planning. First they are brought closer to Islam. Then Muslim boys marry her through love jihad and then she sent to abroad to become a nurse, where she gets trapped in the clutches of ISIS. There was an uproar as soon as the trailer arrived. While a section is promoting this trailer, many people are calling the film an agenda. How true is the figure of 32000 girls?

Creators claim that the story of the film is based on true events. But the question is, how much of the claim is true and how much is fallacy? In January 2022, the NIA revealed that Islamic State sleeper cells are active in Kerala. At that time a charge sheet was filed against eight terrorists. The NIA claimed that an attempt was made to take the Muslim youth of Kerala on the path of terror. It was also told that women are also involved in this.

During the Chief Ministership of Oommen Chandy, the figures of religious conversion came to the fore. According to those figures, during the year 2006 to 2012, 7713 people accepted Islam. During the year 2009 to 2012, there were 2667 women among those who converted. Of these, 2195 were young Hindu girls and 492 were young Christian girls. At that time, CM Chandy had also told in the assembly that during 2006 to 2012, 2803 people had adopted Hinduism. Apart from this, during 2009 to 2012, 79 girls adopted Christianity and two girls converted to Hinduism.

According to a BBC report, in 2016, 21 people from Kerala had left the country to join the Islamic State jihadist terrorist group. One of them had converted to Islam before marriage. The report said that she was eight months pregnant when she left the country.

In the same BBC report, a police officer, on the condition of anonymity, said, “No one has complete knowledge of the record, but our estimate is that there are no more than 10-15 women who have joined the IS from Kerala since 2016.” Left the country after converting to join.” Although it is believed here that girls have disappeared from Kerala.

The trailer of The Kerala Story begins with the story of a Hindu woman named Shalini Unnikrishnan. This character is played by Ada Sharma. Shalini is living with her four other friends.
