Odisha Train Accident, 60 Ambulances Reach Site, A passenger train crashed with the derailed carriages of another train this evening in Odisha, and teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force have arrived at the scene. There are also rumours that a cargo train was involved in the collision.
The disaster claimed the lives of 30 persons while injuring 300 others.

According to the Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena, four units of the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force, three NDRF units, more than 15 fire rescue teams, 30 medical professionals, 200 police officers, and 60 ambulances have all been dispatched to the scene.Odisha Train Accident, 60 Ambulances Reach Site

 

The accident site has been reached by the District Magistrate, Inspector General of Police (Balasore), and Superintendent of P. The injured can be treated at two medical schools in Cuttack and Balasore, he said.

The operation is currently underway. There is already one NDRF team on the scene, and four other teams are en route. After the operation is finished, a thorough evaluation would be given, according to NDTV’s interview with NDRF Inspector General Narendra Singh Bundela.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that the Bengali government is collaborating with the railroads, the Odisha government, and both.

Odisha Train Accident Tragic Train accident at around 7pm. 10-12 coaches of the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express derailed near Baleswar and fell on the opposite track. After some time, another train from Yeswanthpur to Howrah dashed into those derailed coaches resulting in the derailment of its 3-4 coaches. 150 injured and 50 feared dead.

PM Narendra Modi is directly monitoring the rescue operations. He asked the rail minister to do whatever needs to be done to provide immediate relief to the affected people. Over 50 people have lost their lives while more than 200 r injured in Balasore.
