Barbenheimer: As per early estimates, Barbie and Oppenheimer raked in about ₹18-20 crore in net collections at the Indian box office on July 21.

Barbenheimer: As Hollywood films Oppenheimer and Barbie made the cash registers ring this weekend, the “Barbenheimer” phenomena took over the domestic box office. Early estimates indicate that the two films made between 18 and 20 crore rupees in net box office receipts on Friday in India.
Barbenheimer: Analysts noted that this was a remarkably strong first-day domestic box office performance for Hollywood films. In terms of first-day sales in India, Oppenheimer has also surpassed all other Hollywood films this year in terms of box office earnings.
According to trade observers, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer earned between 13.5 and 14.5 crore on Friday, surpassing the opening-day totals of other important Hollywood films Fast X and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning.

Barbenheimer: On the first day, Barbie is thought to have made between 4.5 and 6 crore rupees. Due to Oppenheimer’s larger Indian release than Barbie’s, which included Margot Robbie, Oppenheimer has triumphed against Barbie. Oppenheimer has been seen on around 1,900 screens in India, while Barbie has been seen on more than 850, according to Box Office India.
Barbenheimer: According to a tweet by trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Barbie brought in $6 million net on Day 1 while Oppenheimer made an estimated $14.50 crore.
Oppenheimer made approximately 13.75 crore on Friday, which is greater than Fast X, according to producer and industry expert Girish Johar, while Barbie made a “very impressive” 4.5 crore.

In an earlier interaction, PVR Inox Co-CEO Gautam Dutta had told businessline that shows for Oppenheimer on formats such as IMAX and 4DX were sold out.

Ormax Media projected that between January and June, Hollywood films contributed over 585 crore to Indian box office receipts. This is thought to have contributed roughly 12% of the total gross box office receipts of 4,868 crore in the first half of the year. The only Hollywood film to rank in the top ten films of the first half of the year was Fast X, which had gross receipts of 135 crore, it continued.
It’s interesting how differently the two films did on opening day in the US. On the first day of ticket sales, Barbie made $22.3 million, while Oppenheimer only made $10.5 million.
