Flood prone areas in Delhi list: Six people died and there was widespread disruption in Delhi-NCR as a result of the highest two days of rainfall in at least 41 years. As a result of the rain, homes were flooded, houses and walls collapsed, roads caved in, and trees were uprooted. The base station in Delhi, Safdarjung, recorded 153mm of rain in 24 hours, the most for a single day in July since 1982.
The station took in a another 105.8mm over the next nine hours. Nearly 260mm of rain fell in total over the course of 36 hours, which was 32% more than typical for the entire month of July. Despite government assurances of readiness, there were reports of water invading homes and businesses in significant portions of Delhi.
