IPL 2023 GT vs CSK Final HIGHLIGHTS: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Monday.
On Sunday, due to rainfall, match was called off. There were several moments when umpires walked out, checked the pitch, but the rain gods were unrelenting. Those who bought their tickets for Sunday match, their tickets remained valid on Monday.
The most successful team in the history of IPL, CSK, took on the defending champs Gujarat Titans in the power-packed, high-octane IPL 2023 grand finale on Monday evening. This was the D-day for every IPL lover around the globe. Fans of both the teams witnessed mega showdown at the stadium.
The focus was on Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni! Although, he got out without making any run, his team “gifted” him victory.
Dhoni has been the force behind CSK. Though he didn’t do much with the bat this season, but the craze remains unreal for ‘Mahi’. Posts after posts on Twitter and other social media platforms showed how CSK fans turned the Narendra Modi Stadium into a ‘sea of yellow’.
As CSK won its fifth IPL title, skipper MS Dhoni announced he is still not ready to retire. The announcement came in the post-match presentation where MS Dhoni said that the easy thing would be to walk away, but the harder thing would be working hard for 9 months and try to play another IPL.
For GT skipper Hardik Pandya, this was a battle of nerves. Defending his title, Pandya faced CSK once again. Interestingly, GT had defeated CSK in the IPL 2023 opener on March 31st.
What a wonderful season it was!

Sudharsan’s 96-run knock now stands as the third highest individual score in an IPL final. Only Shane Watson, and Wriddhiman Saha have scored more, both being a 100-plus score.
If we look at CSK’s attack, Deshpande finished as the most expensive bowler as he conceded 56 runs in his four overs. Matheesha Pathirana claimed two wickets, but he too leaked runs at an economy of 11 runs per over, accounting for 44 runs in his four overs.
