Odisha Train Accident: More than 500 unit blood was donated by RSS volunteers. The blood bank was packed with donors when hundreds of victims of the Balasore train accident were brought to the hospital. On Saturday, people were turned away as the authorities informed of the blood stock.
After India witnessed one of its deadliest train accidents in Odisha’s Balasore that killed over 288 people and injured nearly 900 others, large number of people came out voluntarily to donate blood for those injured in the horrific accident.
In a video shared by news agency ANI, people are seen queuing up in the hospital and are seen donating blood inside.

As word of the accident from Friday night spread, young people lined up all night to donate blood at the Balasore district headquarters hospitals in Balasore and Bhadrak.
According to the most recent data, a huge train accident that happened close to the Bahanaga station resulted in the deaths of over 238 people and the injuries of over 900 additional people. 17 carriages from the Coromandel Express and SMVT-Howrah Super Fast Express derailed as a result of the accident.

In a series of tweets, Surjewala shared nine reasons related to the Balasore train accident and gave justification for why Vaishnaw should quit his post.
There are serious bugs in the system that cause the dispatch route to change after a train departs on signals with the correct path appearing in the SMS panel. This goes against the fundamental ideas behind interlocking, according to COM, as stated by Surjewala.
The official further cautioned that failure to immediately monitor and fix the signal maintenance system could result in “recurrence and serious accidents,” according to Surjewala.
Odisha CM announces ₹5 lakh ex-gratia to family members of those killed in Odisha Train Accident
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday announced an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh to the family members of those killed in the triple train accident at Bahanga Bazar near Balasore.
The assistance will be given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The next of kin of the deceased will get an assistance of ₹5 lakh and those who sustained serious injuries will get ₹1 lakh as assistance, a statement issued by the CMO said.
Odisha Train Accident: Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw who took stock of the situation has assured to conduct a detailed high-level inquiry on the mishap. While speaking to reporters, he said, “A detailed high-level inquiry will be conducted and the rail safety commissioner will also do an independent inquiry.” “Our focus is on rescue and relief operations. Restoration will begin after clearance from the district administration,” he said.
How the triple Odisha Train Accident, crash incident happened:
A tragic accident occurred near Balasore district’s Bahanaga Baazar station on Friday. The station lies almost 250 km south of Kolkata and 170 km north of Bhubaneswar.
Odisha Train Accident: 12864 Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express departs from Bengaluru at 10.35 am while 12841 Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express departs from Shalimar in Kolkata at around 3:20 pm.
Several coaches of the 12864 Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, on the way to Howrah, derailed and fell on adjacent tracks. These derailed coaches then collided with the 12841 Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and its coaches capsized too. A goods train was also involved in the accident as some of the coaches of the Coromandel Express, which was heading to Chennai, hit its wagons after getting derailed.
Officials said Bengaluru-Howrah superfast which was on the down line derailed at 6.55pm, and Coromandel on the up line derailed at 7pm. The goods train was parked on the track when it was hit.
